Ladies & Gentlemen…we are proud to announce:

The lads posed for a group shot during their recent gig on the International Space Station (before you ask, they’re wearing gravity boots)

The Band heading up this year’s Big Night Out 2015 will be Cenacle!

After watching several bands, the organisers were unanimous in their decision to invite Cenacle to come and play for us at this year’s event on Sat 9 May.

The lads bring a great sense of fun, along with some great music and their message and we think they will go down really well with our very discerning audience.

If you’d like to check out the lads before coming, pop along to their website at:

Not many weeks to go now…

The Big Night Out 2014 Bands Announcement!

Yes, you read it right. We are proud to announce that the stage line up for the 2014 Big Night Out has not one, but two of the UK’s up and coming young bands.

The support act are the very original Daughters of Davis, currently touring as support to X Factor winner Rebecca Ferguson. Check their videos online. Great stuff!

Headlining the BNO 2014 will be The Gentlemen, a pop/rock/indie band who will touring this Spring in support of The Feeling! They will also feature on the Dermot O’Leary Show on BBC Radio 2. Again, worth a view and listen to their music videos.

We think you will love both the bands and we are very fortunate to have secured both of them at this breaking stage in their careers.

Wait for it…Exciting news about the Big Night Out 2013

After lots of reflection and, subsequent discussions with the owners of Lightwater Valley Theme Park, we are cock-a-hoop to announce to the world that the 2013 Big Night Out will be bigger and better than any of the previous ones.

We looked hard and seriously at last year’s event, especially the problems we had getting everyone in safely when the gates opened at 17:45. We also had several comments, the same as in previous years, about people not being able to ride The Ultimate, because it has to close early. As a result, the ride operators inform visitors when the queue has reached its maximum, so many of you were disappointed.

There seemed to be only one way round these two issues…we need to make the event longer, so everyone gets a fair chance of getting on all the rides they want and without the mad rush at the gates when they open, to get across to The Ultimate and win your place in the queue.

The outcome of all this is that for 11 May 2013, the Big Night Out will be open for rides to groups from 15:00, that’s a whole extra two and three quarter hours longer! We will have to share the theme park with the public for an hour or so, but when they leave around 16:00, visiting groups will again have exclusive access to the Park and its rides.

We are also extending the evening performances from one hour to one and a half hours, as many of you said it wasn’t long enough.

“How much more will we have to pay to get these extra benefits?” We hear you asking. Well, despite there being an increase in the cost to us in having this extra time in the park, we have decided that for 2013 you will pay the same as 2012. There will be no extra cost! We will be strict though on the early bird ticket cut-off date and will only accept applications up to and on the date itself. Any that arrive afterwards will be invoiced for the higher amount. Last year a number of group applications failed to meet the deadline, which is not fair on all the others who did.

So exciting times ahead for 2013 (as long as it stops raining!) and a lot more fun and thrills to be had by all at no extra cost!

Please share the dates with your groups and young people. Try to get them to make a note of it and make your life easier when booking for 2013. Postcards will be available soon for distribution to promote the event. If you need any for your church or group, please get in touch with one of us via the contacts page.

Watch out for further news regarding the music and line up for the Big Night Out 2013…

Exciting news about The Big Night Out 2013

At last we can give you some really great news about next year’s Big Night Out at Lightwater Valley.

Firstly, the date. As a result of the Youth Work Summit changing their date this year, which caused a clash with ours (and the fact this looks likely to be an ongoing issue for future years) we have decided to move the date of the BNO. Rather than push it backwards (which might clash with school exams and half term holidays) we have decided to hold it one week earlier. So in 2013 the BNO will be held on Saturday 11 May.

Secondly, after reading your feedback which consistently pointed out a lot of you were unhappy at not being able to get onto The Ultimate ride, we have negotiated an earlier starting time. From 2013, the BNO gates will be open from 3pm for all BNO punters and from 4.30pm you will have exclusive access to the theme park. That’s a whole three hours extra!

Thirdly, the performance and music part of the evening will be extended to 1.5 hours, giving you an even better chance to hear and see some great acts.

Fourthly, we’ve kept the best until last, you won’t pay a penny more! The 2013 tickets will be on sale at the 2012 price. We, the group of partners who organise the event, have decided to absorb the increase in cost to allow all the above to take place at no extra cost to you! The early bird tickets will be the same as this year: £13pp and the tickets on the gate will be £16pp (Deadline date will be Weds 1 May next year and we will be keeping strictly to that).

So, make sure you get Sat 11 May into your youth group, church or parish diary right away. Encourage your young people to book a place and to tell their non-church friends about this great event.

We’re looking forward to seeing you all again in 2013 for another great Big Night Out!
